Four years ago, 8-year old Aaliyan was rushed into the TKC Emergency Room with a swollen stomach – he was diagnosed with Nephrotic syndrome. To this day, he still visits for treatment on a monthly basis. Aaliyan is a spirited, lively and ambitious boy – studying in Class 2, with a love for cycling and cricket, he dreams of becoming a doctor.
Aaliyan lives with his parents and four siblings in a rented house in impoverished Orangi town. His father is a factory machine operator and his mother stitches clothes at home to help make ends meet.
