Dr. Ayesha Saleem has done her M.B.B.S. from Sindh Medical College, Karachi in 1996 where she was among the Top 10 Best Outgoing Students, she also received distinctions in Surgery and Gynaecology and three certificates of merit.
She pursued her higher education at the prestigious Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi, from where she completed her training in FCPS (Urology). She cleared FCPS (Urology) in March 2002 from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and stood out as the first female who cleared the exams of FCPS (Urology) in Pakistan.
She joined The Kidney Centre in May 2002, her area of interests are female endo-urology, urogynaecology and female reconstructive surgery with special focus on latest techniques of treatment of the lower urinary tract disorders in females. Dr. Ayesha Saleem received her training in the field of urogynaecology from KK Women’s and Children Hospital, Singapore.
She is one of the few female urologists in Pakistan who performs the latest surgical technique of TVT [mid-urethral sling] as well as Tension-free vaginal tape surgery for treating stress incontinence. She has performed over 1500 procedures with outstanding results to treat pelvic organ prolapse.
She has contributed both scientifically and surgically to the emergence of female urology as a recognized subspecialty in the country. She has many publications to her credit in indexed journals as well as several posters and oral presentations to her credit.
