The World Kidney Day theme for the year 2023 is “Preparing for the Unexpected, Supporting the Vulnerable!”. TKC commemorated World Kidney Day by organising a free consultation and screening session for patients suffering from kidney and bladder problems on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The aim of this activity was to encourage and facilitate education, early detection and a healthy lifestyle, as well as create awareness about Nephrology and Urology services offered at TKC. Over fifty patients were registered and given consultation. Patients suffering from kidney and bladder problems visited TKC from all over Karachi, Hyderabad and Interior Sindh.

The clinic was conducted by Dr. Ruqaya Rizwan, Consultant Nephrologist; Dr. Kiran Nasir, Consultant Nephrologist; Dr. Shoaib Mithani, Consultant Urologist and Dr. Raja Rizwan, Consultant Urologist along with their teams. Free laboratory tests and Ultrasound were also offered to the patients.

Ms. Tayyaba Asad, Clinical Dietician, conducted dietary assessment of patients and gave them dietary advice based on what they like to eat, their age, lifestyle, weight and health condition etc.
